Teaneck, New Jersey – After solidifying their status as the number one
pre-school workbooks at Barnes & Noble Bookstores in America, Kumon
Publishing has set its sights on opening up markets globally. And because of a
successful Frankfurt Book Fair in 2005, results are already starting to roll
in.
An emerging children’s educational publisher, Kumon Publishing has opened up 12
countries in 4 continents in the last six months. Now the publishing house is
bringing their distinctive and successful brand of workbooks and educational
products to the United Kingdom.
At this years’ London Book Fair, Kumon Publishing hopes to put in place the
network that will allow it to successfully debut in the United Kingdom this
fall. With a warehouse in hand, and steady sales in Ireland to date, Kumon
Publishing is evaluating distributors and planning a major marketing push.
Asia has been very receptive. Kumon Workbooks use the Kumon Method, which helps
over 3.7 million children learn math and English at Kumon Learning Centers
worldwide. These Learning Centers were started in Japan in 1950, and now the
workbooks have followed the rapidly growing centers from Japan to Singapore,
Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia so far.
Kumon Publishing has distribution deals set in New Zealand and Australia, to
complete a strong showing in the Eastern Hemisphere. A distributor in Egypt has
begun selling the books, and hopes to be a foothold in the Middle Eastern
market. Interest in co-editions in other languages has also been high.
After establishing itself in the American market in 2005, Kumon Publishing is
very excited about the coming year. This growing international educational
publisher can say, with confidence, that Kumon Workbooks are coming soon – to a
store near you!
